Dave is the founder of the Basketball Coaches Association of New York, Inc and has served as the executive director for over 40 years. Dave was instrumental in the implementation of BCANY’s many activities and events. He was also a co-founder of the National High School Basketball Coaches Association and served as its first president. His visionary leadership created a national presence for BCANY and the NHSBCA. He is a strong advocate and tireless worker for the game of basketball and the coaches involved with the game. In addition to Dave’s involvement in these organizations he was a successful high school and college basketball coach for over 25 years. Dave takes pride in being a lifetime educator both as a high school teacher and later as a college professor. He also supported his community serving as mayor of the village of Endicott. Dave has received various awards at the local, state, and national levels, including inductions into the Halls of Fame and being honored at Madison Square Garden by the National Pro-Am Organization. Dave is the NHSBCA Executive Director and serves on the NHSBCA Executive Board. He also serves on the National Association of Basketball Coach (NABC) Board of Directors. (darcher@stny.rr.com)
