NHSBCA VICE PRESIDENT (OHIO)

Tom Barrick is a graduate of River View High School in east central Ohio. He received his bachelor’s degree from Rio Grande College and his master’s from Ohio University. Tom has coached high school basketball 33 years with 31 of those years as a head coach, and has directed 3 teams to the OHSAA Final Four (’95, ’06, ’07). Tom currently serves as the head coach at Russell High School in eastern Kentucky. Tom has served in many different leadership positions during his time in the coaching profession. He served as OHSBCA District 14 Director from 1999-2006, and then in 2006 he was elected as an OHSBCA executive officer which culminated with him serving as President from 2010-13. During this tenure as an executive officer, he also served as chairman of the Academic All-Ohio committee. This committee recognized both players and teams for their excellences in the classroom. In the Spring of ’16, Tom was elected as the first-ever Executive Director of the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors with the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame. In April 2015, Tom was inducted into the OHSBCA Hall of Fame in 2015, and into the NHSBCA Court of Honor July 2018.
