Larry Wilson spent 27 years as a head basketball coach with 18 being at Massillon Perry High School. His overall record was 374-198. He has won many “Coach of the Year” honors, but the most coveted honor were the 1985 Class AAA Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association Coach-of-the-Year and the Ohio United Press International Coach-of-the-Year in 1991.

Larry also had the honor of coaching the Ohio North/South All Star Game in 1985 and the Ohio/Michigan Game in 1993. Larry has had 14 articles published in national magazines. He has been a speaker at many national events for physical education and has been a visiting coach in Colima, Mexico. Larry has been a member of the OHSBCA since 1964 and was inducted into the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1997.

Larry currently serves as the Public Relationship Director and co- editor of the OHSBCA Hooplines. In 2012, the OHSBCA named an annual award in Larry’s honor (The Larry Wilson Award) which recognizes coaches that are no longer actively coaching but continues to serve the OHSBCA either on a local level or state level.
